Have you ever had that 1 person who not only was your best friend, but was so close they were family? They could read your moods in a single word? Or even call you when you are having a bad day, cause they can feel something is wrong when they are a million miles away?

That’s my Ali! We met in a chat program nearly 7 years ago, switched chat programs and grow closer every day. She is my best friend and Sister.

So of course when she bought us these adorable Best Friends Forever T-Shirts from Nerdy Girl I had to make a post about it. lol

The creator of Nerdy Girl is Moira Serenity. One of our SL neighbors. She is a talented clothing designer that offers system layer clothing (my avi on the left) and appliers for mesh bodies (Ali’s avi on the right – Slink Physique). She also offers Omega appliers. She makes Slink shoes and Slink Nail polishes.

We are a couple of dorks. Trivia loving, scrabble playing, greedy mastering, book reading… DORKS! lol But atleast we are a-DORK-able? (Okay made up word.. I smashed dork into the middle of adorable.)

With the new shirts in our wardrobe I had to make us a new picks photo for our profiles, and I even made a full body image just to show off the cute twin-like-ness of our avis.

The Darke Family started building 7 years ago, we even have a brotherling out there who makes up the 3rd head to the family.. over the years we have kidnap…err… adopted, ya adopted that’s it, 22 brothers, sisters, children/kids, and even a few furries.

Our family is close and fiercely protective of each other. I can only hope we grow larger and never lose touch with each other.

By now everyone is aware of our friend/creator Lexi Zelin has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. SL as a community is coming together under the watchful eyes of Toxxic Rhiannyr & Heather Smithson. This fund raising event opened today with approximately 350 supporting creators.

The doors opened Sunday, July 26th @ midnight SLT. 1005 of all proceeds are going to an event account opened by Lexi Zelin. There is also a gofundme account, you can donate directly to her inworld, or use one of the donation kiosks. The Lexi Project

Even Fiona got in on contributing to this wonderful cause. And I had the chance to get a hold of the dress for modeling. This beautiful mini dress comes in 6 colors driven by the same easy to use HUD system. This dress will be available at the mainstore after the event, and 100% of the sales will still go to Lexi. While wearing the gown I decided to take a walk through the destination guide, and found myself in Arts Campus at LEA13

This gorgeous sim is set up to teach people about theatrical arts. They are looking for students and teachers. With gorgeous set ups all over the campus. I couldn’t help but walking around ooing and ahhing.  One piece I found myself staring at for what felt like hours. I couldn’t tell if I was suppose to be looking down it or if it was meant to be sitting sideways like displayed. Stop by ROOM 2 and look inside if you venture over there.

With the Lexi dress I was able to pair up a few other things I recently acquired. And they made my outfit stylish for my afternoon wandering. You can see the cute MID height wedges from Reign called Adley Wedges. These shoes come in several colors and all the mesh bodies.. SLINK/BELLEZA/MAITREYA and TMP MID FEET. Snatched up those at the FLF on July 24th. I love that in SL the removal of tattoos is pain free. Cause I change mine all the time. Here I am showing off the Desperado from [White~Widow] at The Body Hunt.

I was looking for the room key to the classroom but I couldn’t find the right one. Guess I will have to wait until the next class schedule. Looks like they start up in September.

And do you see that pretty silver necklace… That is part of the necklace and earrings gift set I received from Bitsy Buccaneer. She was so sweet to send me it as a thank you. Look how beautiful it is in the close up.

 

So I think I am gonna grab a cup of coffee and finish strolling through the sim. I saw some ruins over there behind one of the buildings. Any one wanna join me for a cup at the Vintage Bar?

Last Week of The Atlantis Hunt

So this post is going to show off all the neat decor I found along the way of the Atlantis Hunt. It’s also going to give you an insight as to who I am. I noticed my ‘About’ page wasn’t really forth coming. But this Hunt has given me the opportunity to invite you in one of my favorite hobbies!

I, like so many others in SL, have taken to venturing into the world of breeding animals. I’m a Pisces and a true Floridian, so of course I found the one breedable that fits me, FISH!! The Pet Peddler’s breedable fish to be exact. I have been breeding them since 2012 and I became a Mentor for the group this year. So if you have any questions, just ask. Brings me to the first thing I wanna show off from the Atlantis Hunt. This cute outfit from Basta and the Immortals headdress tiara piece. I was called “Princess Fish head” as an endearment from one of the fellow breeders lol.

I may never take this off! lol And in this close up you can see the Dainty version of the Minoan Necklace I used to accessorize the outfit.

I don’t have a mesh body, just hands and feet. But for those of you with Mesh, it comes with the Maitreya, Slink physique, and Omega appliers.

Do you see all the gorgeous stuff surrounding me?? Each of those are from the Hunt. And they came at the perfect time cause I was redecorating my fish room. Everyone needs a hobby room!

This is the wall behind me, On it for display I have the cute little photo frame from HJM Designs. Little? Oh, lol I forgot I made it bigger. But don’t fret even at this size its still only 3 prims. (Points to harmless plug of the Atlantis Hunt Texture inside it. Ends on the 31st so hurry up!)

To the left of the photo frame is a cute Fish tank provided on a hanger from Earth Nirvana and to the right is the Cake Fox Decor – Atlantis Book rack. Where else would I keep all my current newspapers and magazines?

In the very top photo, I was also showing off one of those Atlantean Urns from Chiana Ohs and the Aquatic Fish Rugs from [RR].

But my decorating doesn’t stop there. I was able to spruce up my chum station for fish I am no longer breeding. I added that cute Life is a boat on the beach – with flowers from An Lema. Now the fish will be put to rest in peace.

Now for the tank, I like being able to sit inside my tank and watch the fish swim around me so when I saw the cute cuddle island from bees heaven I knew it needed to be inside my tank..

I even dressed up the walls with the starfish from Sanna. See the gorgeous picture there on the wall. A friend of mine an in world artist made that. It’s called Siren’s Song by Prometheus’ Fire Art. He has tons of art available and does custom jobs.

Now of course that is only half my tank, lol You can see part of my fishies there swimming around in all their colorful glory. But let me step back and show you the rest of the tank.

Okay, so my camera lens wasn’t big enough to capture it all. But I absolutely love how my tank and fish room turned out. I included the ~*SR*~ Atlantis Ruins Reef and the Stitches Creations giant clam shell with single poses.

Now time to sit back and watch up close the reenactment of the B-rated Movie Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. *grabs the popcorn* I wonder who will win???

Ursula’s turn..

After getting my sneak peak of the Atlantis Hunt gift for Fi’s Creations, you know I had to go run around this hunt!

And I was not disappointed!!

 

However this time, I had to let my inner Ursula out! Why should Ariel be the only one able to have fun? My inner Ursula is not the girlie girl that Ariel is. So when she saw the boots/galoshes from Lindy Modern & Retro Shoes at stop 2 she KNEW they needed to be paired with the short dress from Wicked at stop 3.

And to accessorize she added the gorgeous animated necklace from Gachapon at #35. Which she of course has a back-up of Ariel’s sweet voice to charm any suitor she finds. *evil grin*

Now Ursula needs to get ready before heading out, and what better place to get ready then in her kelpie vanity provided to us by Nomiki’s Creations at stop #19.

And because Ursula can’t leave her pets, Flotsam and Jetsam, behind. She turned them into multicolored nail polish to make her nails sparkle. See stop #16 Rad Designz sea monsters design.

Ursula is one gorgeous siren, think you can avoid her charms? Waiting for her next victim.. err.. companion? She perched herself on the cuddle ruins provided at stop #33 by Love Everlasting PlantPets. (The sit pose is separate from the ruins and there is extra kelp with fishies swimming through. I will add those to the credits below.)

Designer’s Circle – Fi’s Creations

It’s just about that time again for the opening of The Designer’s Circle! Round #109 is a collection of brilliant designers with awesome lines. The event is bi-weekly and this round runs from the 12th of July – 25th of July 2015, so make sure you make it out there.

So Fi sent me this gorgeous summer themed jumpsuit that I fell in love with and the wedge heels made for the DC are perfect! (Specially if you got the #108 Dotted bikini too. But I’ll get to that in a few.)

I’m a complete nautical nut so when I saw the blue and green colors I knew that I need to show case them at the Yacht Club where I am a member. From Hanging out on the dock watching the sharks swim in the harbor. 

To watching as the sun set out in the ocean.

This beautiful jumpsuit with stood the duration of the day. And those wedges were so comfortable.

Watching as Ariel gets ready for her date you can see her scales shimmer in the light as she keeps them damp from the bath.

Happy Independence day America!

 

An American National Holiday, for the day America became an independent Nation. Separate from the British. This day can cause so many political debates. Plus with the topic of flags and their meanings going on in the nation right now. But that’s a whole world of headaches, I am not wanting to deal with.

I am American, and I love where I live. But I take this day in stride. If the nation wishes to celebrate it, who am I to deny a 3 day weekend off from work? Plus they give me a reason to have a family get together and light things ON FIRE!!!

The above picture is me and my siblings Aliana and Vincent (Jules) watching the fireworks after spending all day on the lake and cooking out. We have left over chicken and shrimp if anyone wants some.
