The Odd Duckling….

Every family has that one nerdy, eccentric, odd duckling that is easily lost and very clumsy. Even as you read that you could already see her or him in your head. In our family, I’m that aunt.

I was headed to the Turkmas event on Sunday, when this little cloud appeared over my head. The flurries were blinding, and I got lost in the forest. This should of been a difficult feat, I was the one who built them. 😦

Least I was dressed warm and it was daylight still.

I hope my Secret Santa gifts weren’t frozen. I was wandering around for hours out there. And did I mention walking in stilettos in snow is as bad as walking in sand with them? But they were too cute not to wear, even if they didn’t quite match. But I never went for matching.

By the time I reached the house my glasses were even frosted over with ice. I also think I made friends with my little cloud, cause it followed me home later that night after the event.

Tending to the animals…

Even during the winter months the druid’s are wide awake and tending to their trees and the woodland creatures that live in their forests. Out with her box of potions she helps to heal their ailments…

With her box of elixirs, she takes a seat under the tree lamp and listens to her patients. From momma bear’s lil cub having a toothache to Mr. Coyote’s case of the sniffles, she listens to each case and gives them the proper elixir to help ease them.

As the wind starts to blow and kick up the snow she decides it is time for everyone to get home, safe in their warm beds. Grabbing her box she heads for her own warm haven. And maybe a change of warmer clothes too.

Out of the wet clothes from the forest, she stands in the middle of her haven. Watching the snow fall all around the hidden hideaway, the magic inside seems to buzz with warmth.

Thin Ice

With last night’s record low, the small pond out back froze over and I got a chance to practice my ice skating.

Skating around the pond while its so peaceful and quiet in the early morning hours. Gave me a chance to warm up before attempting the graceful moves.

Lucky for me I am the photographer so I can leave the clumsy photos on the editing room floor. lol

I chose a warm and flexible outfit to skate in this morning. Fi’s Creations has a new release out at her store. It’s called the Keep Me Warm Sweater and the Morgan Denim pants.

I love my current apricot shade I got over at the Frozen Fair. 7 Deadly s{K}ins put out the new style, Ivaana over there. The cold air against my cheeks has brought up a pretty pink shade to them, but…

I think it’s time to go get some hot cocoa. Specially before the kids wake up and take over the pond. lol

~*~ Snow Faeries ~*~

I was out walking my dog Lucy the other night, we walked through Tipster’s forest, when I happened to see something in a clearing right before the snow started to fall harder. There were two faeries standing in the light of a jar of fire flies. I think I have that same stand from HJM designs.

One faerie would wave her hand and a blue ball of energy would appear, while the other kept seeming to point where new icicles needed to be placed on the trees.

Both were so busy with their tasks, I don’t think they even noticed me and Lucy walking through the trees.

Both faeries were so beautiful, I had to snap a few photos as we watched. Even Lucy seemed to be in awe cause she didn’t bark once.

I wonder if I can duplicate this faerie’s outfit for one of the winter parties I have been invited too? Remind me to check with Fi’s Creations. I think I saw a pair of boots over at Lindy’s Modern and Retro that look identical to those. If anyone sees them let me know.

I zoomed in to get a closer view of her hair design so I can take it to the A&A salon. I think Allie can repeat that design. I think she noticed me and Lucy.

As we headed back toward the house to leave the faeries to their tasks. I kept staring at the delicate design of her necklace. I am hoping if I get with Redrose Jewellry’s creator, she might be able to make one similar.

Well guess I know what I will be doing this week. Hunting!!

Winter’s helpers..

I watched the snow fall one night. Waiting patiently for it to stop. Then I grabbed my jacket and walked out into the night enjoying the new blanket that covered the land.

I came to a shadowed clearing, and saw a beautiful unique Winter Imp. She stood there looking out at the world she just helped to put to sleep.

With a giggle that sounded like icicles tinkling in the wind she introduced herself as Freya. She walked with me through the snow, she would touch hanging branches of trees and you would see the ice crawl up over them. We headed down to the frozen lake, she wanted to introduce me to some one.

OMG.. Jack Frost!!

I stumbled heading up the bridge and they both laughed at me. Just as childlike as all the stories. He waved his hand in mid air and sent delicate snowflakes spinning about me. Freya and him talked briefly about what else was left to do, when we heard the jingling of sleigh bells.

Dancer had gotten free and was playing around in the open meadow.

So of course Freya had to turn it into a party! We danced and played in the snow until Toby showed up.

Toby is one of Santa’s “in the field” elves. He goes out to make sure all the little touches are taken care of.

We all worked together to build a snowman. I donated my scarf and gloves to finish off his look. Then we went to decorate a tree that was on Toby’s list of things to do. It was down the way from my house. We decorated the tree for a charming couple that I didn’t realize lived so close. They work hard and have very little. I was so happy to help with this task.

Even Santa stopped by, mainly tracking Dancer. lol That reindeer loves to cause mischief. Toby finished up with the tree as Santa headed out. Then Toby pulled out this adorable little reindeer and laid it out beside the presents that Santa left, too.

Toby says he leaves these behind at every house he helps at, like a calling card. So if you see one of these Xmas morning, you can smile knowing Toby has stopped by your house.

I can only hope to see these adorable little reindeer at my house. So I can remember this night every year. I wished them all well as the sun started to break the skyline and headed home to get some sleep.
